Setting a window limit size

In version 7 when I open a special app in IE it opens a max size window..
This is a problem because I have a dual screen system with different size displays and the opened window is spread over both displays.
previously under version 6.2 it only opened a window in the current display (Same op/sys and system settings)

is there a way to set a limit size on the windows opened

I am running fedora 9 on a lenovo T61p with native display 1900x1200 and flatron l200ce with a resolution of 1400x1050

Paul
