I am having a problem running Flight Simulator X (FSX) on Mac OS. It installs easily enough, but when run it complains that the graphics card does not meed the specification for shader support and that it needs to be a Geforce3/Radeon 8500. I have an Nvidia GT650m with 1GB video RAM so it exceeds the specification significantly. I can run FSX on Wine and Play on Mac without problems so the game should run on Crossover. I have tried setting the graphics card vendor and device id for my graphics card in Wine's Direct3D registry settings and that does not work either. I assume Crossover does not report the graphics card correctly when queried by FSX.
I have installed all the Direct X (and other) dlls required by the game. I have tried integrated and discrete graphics and Mac/legacy driver etc also. The game always stops stating the graphics do not meed the minimum specification.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
