Office 2007, CxOffice 7.0.2, Ubuntu 8.10 (but also all previous versions and flavours of linux and CXOffice).
In Office 2007, "WORD Options" - the font has white spaces in most letters - so readability is poor. This has always been and issue with Office-menu fonts. They are crude, poorly formed, difficult to read and make Office look naff.
Is there a way to make Office look as good as it does in WINDOWS ?
freetype2 libraries are installed. msstcorefonts are not installed.
With Cleartype OFF fonts are poor - eg. the middle of "s" is missing.
Switching on Cleartype makes things a lot worse.
Installing msstcorefonts makes everything a LOT worse! eg. Things slow rightdown when typing in WORD.
OFFICE (whatever flavour) is unusueable for real work if it's to work like it does in WINDOWS. There are many other issues. OK for dabbling.
