Hi, I installed Office 2007 without fanfare. After completing installation, I
closed the Crossover window per instructions (yes - the installation was
complete, according to the Office setup dialogue).
When Office 2007 opened up for the first time, it asked if I wanted to configure
an email account. I chose yes, and then manual setup, then Microsoft Exchange.
On this screen I am asked for the exchange server and my user name. There is a
check username button to the right of the user name field. First, I typed the
full address of my exchange server (it is correct, I double and triple checked).
Second, I entered my username. Third, I clicked "Check username".
What happened next is an hourglass appeared and did not go away. I waited 5
minutes before force closing the application. I reopened Office 2007, and it
immediately displayed an hourglass and the screen went from blue to gray.
Can you check to see if you've installed the lib32nss-mdns package on your OS?
If Outlook is totally inoperable now whenever you open it, you might have to re-install. You could also try installing IE6 into the same bottle, as this sounds like a network issue.
