I use Publisher 97 from an awful long time ago...I have LOADS of Publisher 97 files.
If I could run Publisher 97 in Linux, my life would be complete.
SO>>>>>>>>>I install Crossover for Linux:- No problem.
Then I try to install Publisher 97....which appears to load up OK but an error message at the end.
When I try running it though, Crossover tells me that my trial period has expired.
Thing is though, I think I tried Crossover a couple of years ago and failed then to get anything running at all. Could it be that Crossover has found something from those days and now tells me that I can't run this trial?
So how can I find out whether Publisher 97, which is part of Office 97 will work?
It's entirely possible that your current Crossover demo has found leftover files from the old, and concluded that your trial period is expired. Try blowing away your ~/.cxoffice directory - this directory contains all of the app-specific information for the programs you've installed in Crossover, as well as the "timer". After that directory is gone, your Crossover demo should re-set to the 30 day trial when you next launch the program.
