Xandros

Will Cross over install in Xandros sucessfully and work correctly or not.....

Should do, but I am not sure if anyone has checked lately (and
I don't see a lot of traffic in the forums from xandros users)

I'm prepared to check for you though, if you let me know which
release of Xandros you were thinking about using?...

only thing I could find was Linux Rel. 2.6.21.4-eeepc Machine i686....hope that helps

I already have xandros on my Asus eeePC 900.... I just wanted to use Cross Over.....and what have you hard about Easy Peasy ??? Anything good...or all bad ??

okay...I haven't gone near xandros for years (the idea of paying
for a linux distro is below my linux experience ;)...and the
notion of having to register for a free trial of xandros4 is
also something that pains me (considering I don't intend to
buy it)...I will check it, just for the knowledge base around
here, but this unlikely to happen for a couple of weeks...it
should work though, it's based on debian...

Seeing you mention eeepc however, draws in another picture -
what exactly you would want to do with crossover on the Eee,
and the video chipset limitations (under linux) that these
machines have ; early models have the intel9xx series video
chipset, which is supported but hardware acceleration is a
big question mark ; newer models have the gn40 chipset (and
support for this only appeared in linux-2.6.30)...and the
hardware accel features aren't in Xorg yet AFAIK ; and this
chipset is to be phased-out by 2010 anyway, to be replaced by
a newer, as yet unannounced intel chipset...

I guess provided the app. you want to run with crossover doesn't
expect any 3D acceleration or other such video functionality,
it'll be okay on the Eee....but as said, I will check the
xandros distro out later (on a 'real' PC, not an Eee), and post
the results...

Thank you for all your effort.....But do not bother with the xandros cross over thing...it's not big deal..... again thank you

No prob....I will still check it tho'...a lot of folks
like Xandros for the support offerings it holds, and it's
always handy to know how one or another linux distro is
able to handle crossover .... cheers!
