LOTRO on Mac

Hi all,

I have just got CrossOver Games to try and play LOTRO on my Mac.
The guides i've seen to get it to play on a Mac with CrossOver Games it seems I have to install the game afresh - is this correct?

I have the game installed on a Windows 7 partition so can I just use this install with CrossOver Games?

If so could anyone tell me how at all?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Andy

Hi,

Best place to ask such questions, is in the forum of the C4 LotRO page...see;

http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=2869

Ask in the forum there, also check the Tips&Tricks on that page.

Cheers!

I have it installed on my Mac through Crossover Games and it runs just fine. You need to go to the tips and tricks page on the compatibility page for LOTRO and follow the directions given there. You will need to download a different version than you currently have and then let it patch to the current version to get it to work. It takes a long time, but it does work. The instructions on the compatibility page here are excellent so give it a shot. The only thing I didn't understand was that you have to tell the PylotRO program to patch manually. Its in the tools drop down menu when you launch PylotRO. If you don't, it will tell you your version is not current and won't launch. Happy Adventuring!

I do agree but please use the tips & tricks of the c4 also looking at the tips and tricks on pyLotro also and to the above quote it is necessary because Crossover Games can't update the game automatically through the lotro patcher because of the client loading screen do to some of the graphic programs that lotro uses.

1- Please use the LOTRO/PyLotRO forum(s) for questions and comments
LOTRO -- http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=2869
PyLotRo -- http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=6292

2- Yes, if you have a working version of LOTRO in a BootCamp partition, you can "use that" to run in the CXG bottle. You don't need to re-install LOTRO, only PyLotRO. See various threads about it in the LOTRO forum above.
Please post any questions you might have in that forum.

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
