D2: Remodded // How to install .net desktop runtime

I am trying to instsall a separate launcher for D2:Resurrected called D2: Remodded.
Whenever i try to add the new launcher to the bottle it tells me i need app host version: 7.0.17 of .Net Desktop Runtime.
Usually those install during an installation, could anyone point me in the right direction for getting this to launch?

Hello! Are you trying to launch the new one or the vintage version?

You'll need to create a new battle.net bottle then install it from that launcher as well as launch the game from it.

Here's what I would do if it's the new version of D2

Duplicate your existing battle.net with whatever game you have on it. (this way you won't run into any install of bnet) then launch it delete the other games and install D2 Remastered. It'll clear out the used space from the bottle of the old app and this will probably happen a lot faster than going through the janky bnet install process.

I hope this makes sense if not drop a response and I'll do my best to help out! :)

I can get D2: Resurrected to run just fine.

I am trying to install a separate launcher inside and i get that message about the runtime.

I didn't check to see if it can be installed using Crossover's easy installation method, but if you download this...

...you should be able to use RUN COMMAND from your D2R bottle to install it that way.

Even the "easy" option still installs Bnet. It was like that with D4 and when I wanted my D2 I just installed it into the Bnet bottle that was created for D4. Works great and no need for anything complex or scripts.

installing .net through the Run Command totally worked. Thank you!

By "Crossover's easy installation method" I meant using a Crosstie for installing 7.0.17 of .Net Desktop Runtime, not Battle.net or D2R. The OP understood and successfully used "Run Command" to install the component required for the mod to work.
