I was having all sorts of problems with Ventrilo and World of Warcraft together until...
open crossover games setup
open configure bottle that both are in (you do have them in ONE bottle, right?)
go to control panel
open winecfg
On Applications page, make sure that both WoW.exe and Ventrilo.exe exist AND ARE SET TO THE SAME WINDOWS VERSION.

Hi,
I see your dilemma here, but in the end this is te wrong place for this
posting. This information should probably be in the WOW tips&tricks. To
do that, you will need first nominate yourself as a WOW advocate, then
you will be allowed to enter this info as a tip&trick on the WOW page.
