When will CXGames Run WinXP bottles?

I love CrossOver, it's let me take steps to moving off Windows that were never possible before! Sadly, not all my life is productivity, I like to play games too!

I have game addons that will not install on Windows 2000, some state they want WinXP specifically.

Is migrating CX Games to WinXP something that is planned for the future?

Thanks,

Jeff

All of them have the ability to run Windows XP Bottles and Vista too. Just select it from the Bottle Manager, Add New Bottle list.

I should have posted this in the CXGames Forum.

CXGames does not have the option to select the bottle type. When I installed my games, it automatically put them in a win2000 bottle.

Did I miss a step somewhere?

Hi,
Yep, you missed something 😊 The online docs show the new
GUI interface (yet to come to CXG but soon), however this
functionality has been there a long time (and in the old/current
GUI as well)....;

Whenever you create a bottle, you are given the choice of which windows
version to report as.

You can also change this after the bottle is created (regardless of whether
you created the bottle manually or not) using winecfg.

I don't know why it would be defaulting to creating a win2000 bottle (unless
you're using an install target for a game that is doing this) - typically
speaking, CXG should defaultly create a winXP bottle....

Cheers!

Ah. I have been educated! Thank you!
