How-to Debug an application which can't connect to the Internet?

I'm trying to install an unsupported app (WebEx Productivity Tools).

It installs fine but when I try to setup the connection server/account/etc it says the "site can't be accessed". I've confirmed all the settings are correct (through a VM test of the same application.)

Is there a way to log what's going on at a network level? I ran the command w/ "thread", "file" and "event" logging but they don't seem to give much info.

Any pointers on general trouble-shooting are appreciated as well.

Do any other CXO installed applications work?

Yep, tons of others work (IE, FF, MS Outlook/Office, Kindle) in multiple different bottles, some being network dependent.

Hi,

Hard to say when there's so many channels at play...wininet, winhttp,
crypt32...ssl....the list goes on and on...

Figuring out what's going wrong or which channels are of interest varies.
Sometimes in these cases, a packet-sniffer can also be useful..

Cheers!

Thanks for the pointers, I'll take a run at it and post back if I find anything interesting.

Hi,

I was trying to install the tools into my Outlook 2007 bottle. Not able to see the tools at all (installation seems pretty smooth, however not installed ).

Can u share what else is needed in the bottle?

Thanks,
