Installation crashes on Mac mini M1 macOS 11.2.3

Hi,
I was very happy to see Crossover coming to M1.
But after downloading it here, the "Copy to Programs" Installation freezes.
Without copy to programs crossover runs, but crashes if you try to install
any windows executables.

Is there a roadmap , when to fully support M1 and macOS 11.2.3?

Best regards
Steff

Hi there,

CrossOver 20.0.4 should work well on m1 with your macOS version. Do you happen to have any antivirus software installed?

Best,
Meredith

Hi.
Yes, should work but doesn't :(
Programs that works on comps with Intel chip doesn't works on comps with M1 chips :(
I have purchased mac mini with M1 chip and very disappointed, 60% of my programs is doesn't works :(
Hope in the near future, CrossOver will be more compatible with the new apple chip.

Best Wishes.

Hello,

I just tried the version I can download from here. 20.0..4.
Where can I get Version 20.0.5?

best regards

Steffi

To my knowledge, 20.0.4 is still the latest version.
Do you get any errors in particular? CrossOver 20.0.4 should run fine provided you said yes to installing Rosetta 2.

If for some reason you were never prompted by any Intel apps to install Rosetta 2 you can manually install it by opening Terminal and copy 'n' pasting the following

softwareupdate --install-rosetta

If the issue is just installing Windows apps themselves through CrossOver, what apps are you having trouble with in particular?

You should provide a list of applications that you say are not working.

I’ve seen some differences in comparability between 32-on64 on Intel and M1 but it’s not like nothing runs.

If these applications you require are mission critical you should have purchase a system you know would run them over purchasing a system running a brand new architecture.

Hi.
List is not long but doesn't matter.
Yes I know now that I did wrong deal when I take new mac with M1 chip :(
Half of problems was solved by Parallels, but Windows for ARM64 also only in the preview, so I am back to the my old computer.
Best Wishes.

It’s still a good idea to provide a list so CodeWeavers can be made aware.

Hi.
Two my progs. for example: Proteus by Labcenter and PureBasic compiler 64 bit.

My mac mini m1 runs great with crossover, makes window programs in stall in a snap, I tried using wine bottler but couldn't make it happen.

While I’ve had great luck with CrossOver on Apple Silicon not everything works.

As for Winebottler that hasn’t received an actual updates in about 2 years and only used upstream wine that still doesn’t contains 32-on-64 due to Julliard not wanting to require a custom version of llvm/clang to compile wine.
