I've installed Crossover 24.0.1, then Steam, then “DirectX For Modern Games”, “Core Fonts” and “Visual C++ 2015-2022 (64-bit)” into the Steam bottle as guides have reccomended, but Steam takes 21 seconds to load once clicked - is this right on an M2 Mac?
Ultiamtely I'm wanting to play Command and Conquer Remastered Collection, but don't want to buy it on Steam if I can't sort this!

Many thanks for your help!
Why Steam if, as I understood, you run it as a standalone game?
Also, have you tried creating an empty 64-bit bottle?
When you open Crossover, click the Plus button at the bottom left,
There you can select “create a new empty windows 64-bit bottle “.
You might want to also try a 32-bit bottle, if you have the standalone installer (as in, not Steam)

Hi there - I've created a new empty windows 64-bit bottle. I then installed Steam into the bottle. Steam still takes around 20 seconds to launch on my M2 Mac Studio.
Crossover is a complex things, it doesn’t matter if you have a super Mac. Your Mac Studio is super powerful but CrossOver needs to do many things in background, also Steam is popular but super crap software which some random behaviours.
Lately also my Bottles takes a lot of time to load Steam.
Thanks for letting me know. It seems others have this problem (I saw other posts on Reddit), but no word from the devs.
