Hi.
Can somebody help me creating a bottle for having Train Simulator 2019 running on a MacMini M1 as mine is very very slow even with low settings? I know simulators are CPU hoggers if not driven by Metal or Vulkan but I would like to know your opinion on the bottle settings.
By now it's based on Win7/64 and added DirectX for Modern Games (is it necessary for Train Simulator's DirectX 9c?).
Graphic settings:
performance enhanced graphics: ON
DXVK backend for DirectX11: OFF (isn't it for Vulkan?)
E-Sync: ON - adds a 15% fps
all other library requested are authorized to be automatically loaded.
Thanks
Simon
Problem is that currently even much older games (like Deus Ex II) run like a dog under CrossOver. That seems to be a problem inherent in CrossOver on M1 right now. No fiddling on our end will fix this. I tried.
Report it as a bug through the Bettertester program and move on. I'm hopeful this will be fixed in the end. Right now... it is, what it is.
Many thanks.
What bug should I report? A generic slow speed? By some terms is natural with M1 which, BTW, I still haven't understood if the programs in the bottles (in this case my train sim) are emulated or Rosetta converted. If emulated it's a big issue as also the conversion from DirectX 9c to Metal would be terrific.
TNX again.

AFAIK CodeWeavers is NOT using Rosetta to run these games but an emulator (I read it is QEMU). Probably due to their 32 Bitness. Not sure what this means for their future, we will have to wait and see. The problem does not inherently lie in the conversion from DX9 to Metal AFAIK, because these games used to run much better on an Intel Mac.
Most of them run much better under Parallels, because Microsoft is using its own x86-32 Bit emulation, which does not exist under MacOS, since it's 64 Bit only.
The 32 or 64 bit matter is also unclear as Train Simulator is also available in 64 bit mode but I'm seeing a sort of "32on64" "something" running in background. If launching the game in 64 bit mode makes it run a 32 by Crossover this is another big issue.
Yes, I also have an Intel MBPro (fro Office jobs) but would run only with an external GPU (which I have, BTW) or I could buy an Xbox S but neither solutions are worthwhile for playing sometimes. Having everything on the MacMini would be better.
TNX a lot again.

This game might use a 64 Bit launcher, but actually still runs in 32 Bit. I know this is the case with Grim Dawn. Could be the same with your program. Don't know, of course. I would ask the developer about this.
