On my M1 MacBook Pro, the download buttons always appear grayed out on Steam. Any idea how I can resolve this?
The download button for Mac apps that I have appears as normal, suggesting Steam thinks I'm on a Mac - but I'm running the Steam client through Crossover.
I would suggest you have modified your Steam user settings so that your library only display games that run on a Mac. Give that a try and let us know if it helps. You can find it at the topright corner of the Steam window, where your username is displayed. Click on it, go to Account Details, then Settings. Scroll down and it should be down there somewhere.
I have not installed crossover yet, but I think you have to install the windows version of steam via crossover first. I guess you have the MacOS Version of steam installed, which does not allow to install windows clients.
