CrossOver Support - Community Forums

Hi, i recently got my crossover version and now im trying to install Battlefield 2 but i have a few questions.

1. Do i have to install the windows XP bottle in order to play windows based games?
2. Well i already tryed to install it without the windows XP bottle, but when i try to install the game an error pops up and says that i need Administrator Priviledges to run setup. In this case what do i have to do?

You don't have to install Windows XP into the bottle. CrossOver is a full replacement of Windows.

Complaints about not being administrator are usually caused by failure to load the copy protection drivers. CrossOver's support for them is still limited, so many copy protection systems do not work(and some, like StarForce, never will).

Unfortunately, Battlefield 2 is pretty dependent on PunkBuster, which also does not work, mostly due to the API fingerprinting it does.
