Downloaded ia32-crossover-games-demo_7.1.0-1_amd64.deb for my 64bit Ubuntu 8.04. I already had installed CX Games 7.0, but I can't figure out how to install 7.1.0.
First "dpkg -i" refused to install it because there was a conflict with cxgames5 (whatever this means). Then I used "--force-all" to override and get that thing installed. But now all I get is an error sign from Update Manager and I can not install any updates unless ... unless I do what Update Manager forces me to do: "apt-get install -f". But all this does is to remove my crossover installation. Completely.
So I'm stuck. I tried to find some useful information on codeweavers webpage but found only the documentation stating that I don't have to remove a previous installation before installing a new one.
Help needed!
[EDIT]
Sorry, I already found out how to resolve this conflict: there was a packaged named "ia32-crossover-gamesdemo" (the 7.1.0 package calls itself "ia32-crossover-games-demo") and after removing that one I could install the new one. Ok, I know I'm not used to dpkg, maybe that would be obvious otherwise. But from my point of view it would be very nice to have some installation notes at all :-/
