FYI, I solved the problem with the Dock getting in the way. Just move it to the side instead of the bottom of the screen - or hide it altogether. It even allowed me to change those settings whilst running NWN, without any problems.
I did not install the program. I just copied the entire file structure from my Windows PC to a USB drive and then copied that in my Downloads folder. Then I run it from there. This overcomes the issue someone else reported about changing disks during the installation.
It even works at the same high resolution as the iMac and with an online PW connection. Not tried the DM client yet, but no reason to doubt that it will work on that as well. With a faster machine and a widescreen, it should be great in DM mode, where you need several utilities open at the same time - Chooser, Creator, Map, etc.
Slightly disappointing that NWN2 did not work, so nice to have a good result with NWN1.
Hope that helps others to get NWN running - a great game, even if it is getting on a bit now.
Edit - the DM Client works fine as well. I had to run NWN.exe rather than NWMain.exe. I had an error message saying it could not determine which version of NWN is installed, but I clicked OK on that and it still loaded and ran fine - better than on my PC. There is an update of NWN available at present which we are not using yet on our PW, so not sure if that is relevant.
The higher resolution and wider screen make the game look even better than usual - awesome.
