i have rome total war installed on my mac and i can find it in my finder, but when i try to open it it says its open, but it does not do anything

Hey Carson.
It is highly likely that you are suffering from the same problem that I initially did when installing Medieval Total War 2. It seems that several (if not all) of the Total War games are unable to recognise a valid game CD/DVD when you attempt to launch the game.
You will need to find a 'NO CD' .exe file and replace the existing RTW .exe with it. www.gamecopyworld.com is a good place to look.
I recommend renaming your current .exe and then copying the 'NO CD' .exe into the folder before running the game.
