I'm trying to play Fifa '08 with CrossOver Games, but, despite faultless installation, it fails to acknowledge the presence of the CD when inserted (and refuses to operate without the CD inserted). I think it could be something to do with the fact that the CD is being loaded onto the Mac desktop, but the game is looking for it in the C: drive? Or something like that?
Any help much appreciated. I have also tried using a disk image and mounting an alias in what I think is the C: drive of the bottle.
I've seen the very same thing happen with Medieval Total War 2. After a straight forward installation, the game won't launch at all. In order to prove my point, I obtained a 'NO CD' version of the .exe file and the game then ran perfectly. From what I've read on these forums so far, the problem is common and is affecting more than a handful of games.
Cheers,
Dave
