Even when using the launch options "-noforcemaccel -noforcemparm -noforcemspds" with Counter Strike:Source, which is supposed to instruct the game to switch of any mouse acceleration, Mac OS' mouse acceleration still applies. For me, this makes CSS essentially unplayable.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get rid of mouse acceleration in game?
This can easily be fixed through Steam. Open Steam up, and then right click on the game that you want to have mouse acceleration turned off. Go to Properties, and then click on Set Launch Options. Copy and paste this into the text box: "-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd" without the quotation marks. Then click Ok. You have to do this with every game that you want acceleration turned off. Just right click on the game > Properties > Set Launch Options > copy paste "-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms -noforcemspd" > Save.
Steam might already have some lines of code in there, just add a space between the already present text and the one you're about to add.
I've tried those, but the mouse acceleration is still there... Mouse acceleration is a problem for all FPS games on CrossOver for Mac... Probably the next version should have the capability to disable the mouse acceleration?
For me its kinda weird, whenever i install a new game the mouse accel thing happens for the first time or two i run the game, then after that it works fine, and i dont touch anything, idk whats up with it.
I didn't have any problems when using the launch options, but someone on the forums recommended SteerMouse (http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/). I used that program to configure the buttons on my mouse, but I've also found that it turns off acceleration and does other tricks to it. I found it works with CS:S (I didn't put in the launch options for CS:S, just TF2).
The program is also handy for tweaking your mouse speed and tracking. I got it very close to how the mouse performs in my regular old PC that I don't use anymore.
I can't really get the buttons to work right though, but that's just a problem with SteerMouse (weapon switching in CS 1.6 and DoD).
Good luck!
