You don't really convert them to mac. It just allows you to play them. It is like having a very light virtual machine in which you have just the very elemental windows files to make your games run. Anyway, you have to know not every game runs well since the software is still in development.
Anyway, yes, you need crossover games in order to play pc games in mac, or try the free version of WINE.

It really depends on the game. I recommend you to search for your game at c4.codeweavers.com
Note that the 30 day trial is the office application focused version of CrossOver, not the game-focused one. There is a CrossOver Games trial too.
