Hi, i've been testing your software for a few weeks, and i have found something a little bit annoying, and could be solved somehow: It is understandable to have two different pieces of software which basically do the same thing, but one for games and the other for office apps and stuff, but when you have both, it would be nice to have the two of them mixed in one single application, or something like that, so you don't need to launch different apps. I suggest this because a few days ago, i had to do incredible efforts to install on a crossover games bottle, some software with crossover office to try to make a game run. I had to convert the bottle to a file (which took around 15 min), unconvert it under cx office, install the softw, and then repeat the process to send it to cx games. If there's another easier way to do it, can you let me know?
Besides, it would be nice to increase the number of software packages in the "install software" button on crossover games, or at least add the flash player install (steam needs it).
Maybe i talk shit, but anyway it is just a suggestion :)
If you select the "Show service packs" toggle button Flash player is listed.
It would be nice if they could add a "run installation script" option so that advocates who know what is needed to install non-supported games can create installation scripts (makes us advocates lifes a bit easy if we know how things were installed when it comes to problem chasing).
The reason the two products stay separate is that we make make a specific distinction between the two when developing. CrossOver Games tends to have more bleeding-edge functions which would most likely destabilize the office applications. For that reason, I'd encourage you to keep the two worlds separate. You should be able to control which app runs which program by mucking with your desktop associations (or, on the Mac, just right-click on the icon and select 'open with...').
Cool thanks Alan for the tip. I didn't notice that option under preferences... :) And thanks Andrew for your explanation. I guess there are many things far beyond my limits of understanding... I'll follow your advice anyway.
