even the listed games dont work

so i really thought this program was a really good idea. so i downloaded the demo. i tried out Delta Force extreme and was suprised to see allthought there were some little bugs it worked great. exited i decided to try some of my old games that i used to love on it. the first one i tried was half life 1. installed fine and got to the menu but once i got to the gameplay the screen went white and i couldnt see anything, i waited for like 20 minutes and it stayed that way, the sound was working but the visuals werent. i tried Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast and that wouldnt even install!!! it stopped at 2%! i then tried battlefield 1942 and that stopped installing at 46%, that might be the disc tho, its pretty old. any way i then tried Jedi Knight Dark Forces II and like half life it installed but when i played the game the level wouldnt load!!! what im wondering is why a listed game like Half Life wouldnt work?? it says to work ok on the website! is there any way to fix this??? this is really frustrating to me because i have been looking for a way to play my old PC games on my mac for so long now and i finally found one but its 40 dollars and i dont even know if it works. Before i drop 40 dollars for an emulator i need to know that it works well for at least a few of my favorite games!

i am using a macbook G5 with the newest edition of leopard.

i only have one day left on the demo so help would be greatly appreciated

I'm sorry, but i think your problem is actually the type of mac you are using. It specifies to be an Intel-Mac on the requirements tab when downloading the trial version. Sorry buddy ;)

i am using an intel mac 😥

You wrote that you use a macbook G5.

A G5 is no intel mac

oh, its not a G5 macbook then. its definatly intel, i can run gametap which didnt work on my older mac because it didnt have intel, i have the newest version of leopard, its the white macbook. according to "about this mac" its a intel core 2 duo or something. its intel tho

So, anyway, what games have you tested so far? Have you tested another ones? Try to test "on the list" games before.

just the ones i said, half life 1 was on the list and it didnt work.

the demo expired now and before i buy it i want to know if theres a way i can get it to work.

Have you looked at the entry for Half-Life in our compatibility database? There's quite a bit of info in there from users who've gotten the application to work successfully - perhaps your specific problem is addressed somewhere in the forums or tips? - http://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=3

Please Note: This Forum is for non-application specific questions relating to installation/configuration of CrossOver. All application-specific posts to this Forum will be moved to their appropriate Compatibility Center Forum.
