I play a quite a few Japanese games, such as visual novels. There is an issue I'm finding with games, many will load up (although sometimes they can't get directsound going), but the issue I'm having is text being displayed properly. The text being displayed is english, however they are being displayed as boxes.
My best assumption is that Crossover doesn't have the fonts(?) that are needed, so it just displays this (boxes). Is there anyway to fix this? Maybe a way to install additional fonts? Looking at it, that's the only thing I can assume. I see the other crossover has an option on installing fonts, but nothing here for Crossover games.
Did you try to install the corefonts package using the CrossOver
installation wizard?
Is there a guide somewhere for that? I looked all over for this thing and can't find anything. I see one for linux, but the Mac version doesn't have things such as font tab, etc.
update: I downloaded that corefont thing from sourceforge, and installed that in the same bottle. While it did install it to the windows/font/ directory, it's still .ttf format. Which I believe we need it to be in .fon right?
I also tested it out, and still getting squares for fonts. I know the font I installed --Courier New-- is exactly what the program uses, but it's not working there.
