Counter-Strike Condition Zero

Hey, I was trying to install condition zero today. I have the discs and cd key they are legit copies, but halfway through it just stops at this .wad file and won't let me install. I checked and CZ is a supported game so I don't know why its not working. please help.

I also forgot to mention, on this website it does say the steam version is the one that works. I really don't feel like going over my download limit and getting CZ and deleted scenes from steam (via downloading). I really don't understand why installing it from the disc would be that big of a deal. I think its about 1.5 gigs for all, and I really can't go over my download limit anymore. So please someone help me figure out how to install with discs. Also it stops like 30 seconds into the install with the discs, at aztec.wad (map) then just stays there forever. I can post a install log if that would help. Thanks

(i moved this over from unsupported builds)

if it helps im using a 20 inch imac. i really want to play this game so please could someone help me out.

I'm sorry buddy i can't help you in your problem. In fact, same thing happened to me, so i had to install the steam version instead. Anyway, i don't think "install from the cd" support will be available at any time since, to me, it just seems to be a marketing strategy. I mean: It is obvious Valve itself donated money in order to have their games running even on mac, so they will have also mac users as costumers (and of course because it is much cheaper than recode and transform all their games onto mac). The Steam thing is one of the greatest ideas i have ever seen for fighting back non licit copies of their software. If Steam and Steam games work already under mac, i bet they won't bother anymore. If someone developed support for "installing from the cd", then i guess many people would try to get their games from P2P and torrents rather than buying them.

You see? I think it is foolish to keep on asking....

PS: I would love to have install from cd support, since i don't have always internet conexion, and you must if you want to play a steam game...

The reason we only support the Steam versions of games like HL2 and Counter-Strike because of copy protection issues on the install CD's of the games (an issue you've both encountered). Even though your CD's are legit, the copy protection is not able to verify on your non-windows systems. Steam is a brilliant alternative in that regard, though it does require a steady net connection. Valve and Codeweavers do not work together in any way - Steam just happens to be a very compatible tool with our technology.

Anyway, there are a multitude of "no-cd cracks" that you can download off of the internet that will allow you to bypass this issue, though for many legal reasons we can't help you with that.

When you say 'can't help you with that' does that mean you can't give instructions on how to replace files within bottles?

Hi i have it installed as my first app on crossover. i have copied the cd's content to a folder and have installed from that folder all the stuff and all works very well.
