I bought the full version of crossover for my mac mini hoping to run steam off it.
i went onto the crossover install screen and downloaded steam. when i tryed turning it on it upadted then just STOPPED!
i couldn't understand it so i tried two more times then uninstalled and re-installed it. still no luck!
any advice?
First of all, did you check the FAQs on www.codeweavers.com and www.steampowered.com?
Can you give a few more details? At which point does it "stop", and what do you mean with "stopping"? Does the download stop at some point, does the Steam window disappear, or does it not react to user input?

ill tell you everything i did.
i installed steam with no outwars problems into the bottle but as soon is i try to open it, it updates then dissapears!
it doesnt respond to anything and when i click the shortcut on my Mac it re-directs me to crossover games.
sorry i wasn't clearer before. :P
I am also getting this problem on my 2.4GHz iMac. I was trying to look through the forums to see if I could find a fix for it.
Nevermind. I reinstalled Steam under WinXP instead of Vista and it started to work perfectly.
