Any help?!?

Hehe that is how far I got with this as well.

I have looked in the game folder crossover made and indeed there is not a lot of files in there. A html and the steam.app

100% sure we are doing something wrong, but I just followed the screen prompts and it said installed without problems. Hhmm.. Oh well got 7 days to make it work, so I can test and see if it's worth anything.

I found this video tutorial, and I did the same as he did... But after successful install, steam window does not load only the error as shown in the first post....

One user reported this error, and then disabled their PeerGuardian firewall and the error went away. Can you folks try disabling your firewalls and maybe DMZ your computer and see if Steam runs?

Well I am not sure what you mean by "DMZ" your computer, I will try that once I know what it is :)

But I have now tried installing once more. PeerGuardian filters are turned off and PeerGuardian has been closed.

The OS Firewall is set to allow all, not sure if there is a disable option?

I have removed LittleSnitch in case that could be a problem.

I have removed all bottles and started all over, but still get the same error. I do try to follow the instructions and it all seems to be installed the right way, at least that's the meassage in the end of the install. The only "problem" during the install is the part where I need to type in my username and organisation for the XML parser install. Right now I have just left that part blank, but perhaps something should go in there?

Still no luck...

I have tried to make a movie of the steps I do. Please let me know if I am doing something wrong:

I am unsure - and currently unable to test - but i think steam does not (by design) connect correctly on "exposed hosts"/dmz'ed machines.

Well it seems to be working now (Steam has been installed and I am downloading a game)...
It was indeed PeerGuardian that was causing me problems.
Eventhough I disabled the filters in the OSx menu bar and "killed" all entries in the activity monitor it was still running.
So instead I launched PeerGuardian and disabled the filters in that menu.

Well I am looking forward to see how this will run.
