Doubt about Crossover bottles updating system

Hello, I have a doubt about Crossover's bottles.
I think Crossover updates it's list of "actions to do in installation-time" in order to achieve the
better compatibility as possible. These actions include choosing the "best" wine version for
the supported product.

My doubt appears here: it's possible that an update suggests a change in "wine version"?
I think so. In that case, when the "wine version change" is suggested... the bottles update
it's wine version?or should I uninstall the program and reinstall it to enjoy the improvements?

Thanks for your time.

There is only one wine version in any single version of Crossover. When you update, all bottle will be updated in a similar manner. I have yet to encounter any bottle version changes (i.e. winxp to vista bottle), and I doubt that will happen.

So to answer your question, you can just update Crossover right over your current installation. Your bottles will be automatically updated and there really shouldn't be any problems. In all my years of use, I never broke a bottle with an update.

Hi J-P Simard , thank you for your response.

I have yet to encounter any bottle version changes (i.e. winxp to vista bottle), and I doubt that will happen.

My doubt is not about "simulated system changes" (like winxp -> vista), but about wine version changes, like wine 1.7.4 to wine 1.7.19 .
I know the bottles don't become broken, my doubt is about improvements, not about breaks/crashes.

I don't get it. Are you asking whether your bottles break when CrossOver updates its version of wine? Yes, they might. They usually don't.

Well, my answer still is good. Any time you update, you update all your bottles to the latest version of Wine integrated in Crossover. There's no special procedure, just install over your current install, that's it. Nothing else needs or could be done.
