I'm trying to install an application (A Dark Age of Camelot freeshard called Atlas), and am running into an "out of memory" error when its installer tries to copy files form the .bin files provided to their destination directory. This is in a Windows 7 bottle, but I get the same in Windows 10 as well.
I tried creating a registry to address this, as described here:
but, unlike reports from Linux users on Wine, this doesn't seem to work for me with Crossover. It may be telling that the registry key has to be created, not just modified, in my Crossover bottle. Then again, maybe that's of no import at all.
I have verified the file to make sure it isn't corrupt, tried multiple downloads and verified checksums, and so on. So, it seems to be something about how the installer is running not playing nice under Crossover.
If anybody has ideas about how to address this problem, I'm all ears.
Out of memory means out of RAM, so you should probably get a ram upgrade if possible
