CrossOver Support - Community Forums

I'm using the most recent version of Ubuntu (14.04.1) and I recently downloaded crossover. I added the architecture i386 and updated before installing as I was told but whenever I try to start Crossover Linux I get an error window telling me:

You seem to be missing the GTK+ Python modules.
If this is the case you may try running one of the following commands as root:

Debian / Ubuntu: apt-get install python-gtk2
Fedora: yum install pygtk2
Mandriva: urpmi pygtk2.0
SUSE: zypper install python-gtk

I have the newest version python-gtk2 and I ran the command sudo apt-get install python-gtk2 just to make sure but it still gives me the same error.

Have you tried to uninstall / reinstall CrossOver since you did the update? I think I have seen this once before: I'm not sure why it happens.

Did you install via the .bin installer or the .deb?

I've tried to uninstall and reinstall since the update and I get the same thing. Also, I've tried installing with both the .deb and the .bin and I got the same error.

what do 'which python' and 'python --version' say? Is your python installation generally working?

which python gives me
/usr/local/bin/python
and python --version gives me
Python 2.7.7

I don't use python that much. I suppose it could be a problem with my python installation.

It was my python installation. It works now.
