I tried installing the preset for Unreal Gold and the Steam one. Both launch in a window and all black. With Steam version I can get it to launch in Safe Mode (software mode) but framerate is very poor.
UPDATE
Use D3D mode. Then set Crossover to run in FULLSCREEN MODE. Fast FPS and a clean display.
