I'm using the trial version of Crossover, and hoping to get Everquest running so that I can game with some buddies. I'm on a Mac Pro (Intel Xeon) running Monterey.
I've tried creating various 32-bit and 64-bit bottles, but no matter what I do the game executable (eqgame.exe). I've tried every available OS/bit combo with no dice. The application launches and I can log in, but as soon as the game itself starts loading the Bottle throws a C++ Runtime Error (abnormal program termination) and exits.
With a 32-bit bottle, I get the error "Using a 32-bit prefix in Wow64 mode" (multiple times).
With a 64-bit bottle, I get the error "the comand /path/eqgame.exe returned 3".
Any insight as to how I can fix this would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the reply! I am playing (well, trying to play anyway) on a private server, so I can't install it via the built-in installer. I copied my EQ install folder from another machine, and pointed Crossover at eqgame.exe.
I'm having a similar issue with the "Using a 32-bit prefix in Wow64 mode" error when trying to install IE6 into a 32-bit Windows bottle using winetricks. Even using the official Internet Explorer 6 CrossTie throws up a error message, with a dialog box titled "Windows Update Setup" saying "The Windows Update: Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer Tools cannot be installed on this computer. This product does not install on 64-bit platforms". It's a 32-bit bottle, so not sure why there is the reference to 64-bit?

CrossOver 21 does not have this issue.
CX21 didn’t use WoW64 unlike CX22.
Then again I’ve not managed to even make a 32Bit prefix outside of CrossOvers UI.
