so i heard from a leak that its coming out in June, and i think i will buy it when it comes out.
what does this mean for CXG? i am not well versed on 32-64 bit os differences, will crossover still work?
will this make it easier to code? will this open up the hardware more for you guys to work with? will we see a consistent implementation of DX9?
anyone else have question? or answers?
We have access to the snow leopard seeds, and we're making sure that CrossOver continues to work on Snow Leopard.
There won't be much 64 bit implications I think. MacOS is going to provide a 32 bit compatibility layer that should be essentially as fast as the original(just add a few MB to the MacOS size), so CrossOver should still work.
We hope that the under-the-hood improvements Snow Leopard promises include driver fixes. On the other hand, dx9 starts to work ok on Leopard if you have a dx10 card. At some point we might enable it by default for geforce 8/9 cards and radeon HD 2xxx ones, but keep it disabled for Intel cards, and first-gen intel macs with geforce 7 and radeon X1xxx cards.
