currently trying to play a browser based game in firefox in crossover games. the game can launch and opengl wise everything is working. i have the osx firewall disabled and my computer is on the dmz on my router. i've also manually opened the port on the router (tcp 5222) just in case and have it forwarded correctly.
trying to play the game in crossover games with firefox i get an error message saying that my tcp port 5222 is not open. booting into windows with bootcamp i can play the game no problem.
my question is, is there a way to open this port in crossover games/wine? the problem is clearly with crossover. i am new to crossover and wine and don't know where to begin.
i cant because the actual game is windows only. as soon as you connect with osx firefox it tells you to use a windows machine. it requires the game exe and a punkbuster service, both which run fine in crossover games. i just need to open that port.
also as a side note, the game ran in parallels. it was completely unplayable at 1 fps, but it still ran and reported all game required ports functioning. what .exe/.so or config file configures crossover games's network settings?
the qlive installer was getting to like 99% and then saying it couldnt finish. the files looked ok and the game was launching so i assumed the files were ok. they werent. copied qlive folder from working windows install and replaced qlive files in crossover games.
port problem gone.
now to solve the opengl issues....
thanks,
joe
