i am using crossovergames 7.02 mbp unibody with 9600gt activatet.
it does not matter if i am using window or fullscreen.
i always get a memory allcation failure (malloc) or an unable page fault.
what am i doing wrong ?!?
it is the german orangebox (cut).

MBP Unibody 2,4 9600GT
Hl2 runs relatively smooth, but crashes with that (malloc-failure)
IMAC 24" 2600PRO 2,8Ghz
Hl2 runs bad, shadows are corrupt and not correct, but it did not crash.
I ran a memory test on the MBP but it says that the memory is just fine (rember-tool)
What a mess !

I'm having the exact same issues that you are having with the imac. I'm using a 2007 macbook pro and hl2 just started misbehaving today, while I was playing it last night and it ran fine. I haven't done anything to it recently so I don't know what si causing this.
I was able to get my version of steam and HL2 running normally again by downgrading to crossover games 7.1.1.
