I'm an old customer from CXO (5.0.3) who got the Lame Duck CX Pro for Linux, which seems to come as a full blown CX Pro product full with CX Games and 1 year upgrades (and allows for $35 extensions which is pretty cool compared to the Standard version I owned before, and is very likely to make me indeed purchase the extension at the end of the year).
Anyway, CX Games 7.2.0 is out, but it appears to be the demo version in My Downloads. And when I install it, it wanrs me that I'm about to overwrite a registered copy with a demo version, and advises against.
So my question is, is this version of CX Games only a demo, and should I expect only demos in the future, or is it the real deal and will it register itself somehow, or ask me my registration code ? I didn't proceed with the install for fear of breaking something...
Any idea ?
Thanks
Alban
PS : I know there was a forums vs. mailing list debate a few months ago, and it seemed at that time that mailing lists would stay. But it seems the trafic there dropped to zero. Are mailing lists a thing of the past ? (that would be pretty sad...)
I overwrote my registered copy by running the demo installer for 7.2.0 (ignoring the warning that this is almost certainly the wrong thing to do!)
In the Crossover Games menu there is a register utility. I entered my email and password login and the demo was successfully upgraded to the registered version.
Great, I'll do that then. Thanks a lot for the feedback !
