As the title, is there any way to prevent apt-get update on every software installation? I don't think it's necessary to perform the update when installing software one by one.

Is this a recently installed copy of CrossOver? I've been installing software left and right for testing and I do not get any prompts to install additional packages. I did get them when attempting to install things after a fresh install of CrossOver.
My point is that CX won't prompt you any more after a few installs since the libs that are required are now on your system.
In case I did not understand your problem, you might want to explain more in detail what happens.
