After updating to CrossOver 24.0 I'm no longer able to run any of my 32-bit games in full screen mode. All of them worked, albeit with a significant frame rate reduction compared to Parallels Desktop 19 or VMware Fusion 13.5 virtual machines, in the previous CrossOver 23.7.1.
Examples : Sonalysts Dangerous Waters (Windows 7 32-bit bottle) and IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 (Windows 11 bottle). Both applications launch in a window on my 1920x1080 external display that takes up about half of the screen beginning with the top-left corner.
I've tried enabling & disabling all possible combinations of Advanced Settings to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Going back to the previous version of CrossOver and will try again following the next update unless someone proposes a solution.
I'm wondering if that is the same issue I'm having with Steam. It is now just using 1/4 of the screen. The windows will not move out of the top left quadrant. Worked great before, but now it is broken. Also, I can see the Wine start menu.
I solved this issue by creating a new Windows 11 Bottle (adding the same options I'd originally selected - Core Fonts, DirectX for Modern Games, MS.NET 4.8 and MS Visual C++ 2019), then running the Sonalysts Dangerous Waters setup executable from within the Bottle (C:/CrossOver/Temp).
All Advanced Settings were OFF. The game failed to load when I tried selecting D3DMetal or MSync or both.

Still on my 14-day trial and have re-created new CrossOver 24.0 Bottles of earlier editions from scratch, which seems to have helped solve the upgrade issue.
I have a license, and I've just faffed about for half a day looking for settings or help or any info about stretching (pref with aspect ratio preserved, but I feel like there should be a few options) old 32-bit games to display on a mac.
I found one older thread where it was explained the 'virtual desktop' wine option is greyed out because that's Linux only, and that a whole new approach would have to be found for Mac. That was in 2022. Now, in 2024, apparently this was fixed, and now isn't.
I just want to play Diablo I and some other older games. Why is it so hard to find any information about how to use CrossOver when the defaults don't work?
In some games you can switch to Fullscreen by pressing Alt+CMD+Enter despite the lack of Fullscreen option. maybe it helps.
