Getting AMD driver error in RDR2 on MacBook Pro M3 Pro with CrossOver Beta

Hey everyone,
I’ve seen that a lot of people can run Red Dead Redemption 2 on macOS since the latest CrossOver beta update. However, I keep getting a pop-up saying:

“Minimum Recommended Hardware… Please update your driver. Game requires version 20.2.2 or newer. Please visit AMD…”

I’m using a MacBook Pro 14-inch (Nov. 2023, M3 Pro with 12-core CPU, 18-core GPU) running macOS 15.3.1 (24D70) and CrossOver Version 25.0~b4 (25.0.0.38538). I’ve tried launching the game both through Steam and the Rockstar Games Launcher but keep getting the same error.

I know there are no AMD drivers for Apple Silicon, so I’m confused why this error is popping up when others seem to play without issues.

Has anyone else encountered this or found a fix? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I am having the same problem. Is there a solution?

Hi folks. M1 Pro Macbook Pro user here. I get the same message but just click yes, get a black loading screen, and then RDR2 boots fine and plays great. I get this message and click yes everytime, but it works fine after. Assume clicking yes doesn't work for you both? And assume you're set to D3D before booting the launcher?

It works in DXVK mode but it is very slow. In D3DMetal mode it gives an update error and does not open.

same problem tried every possible option still it shows the update error and quits the game.. does any one have the solution?
