Hello,
I really hope I can make sense here. I bought a new monitor for an upcoming PC build. Until then I'm borrowing a HP Chromebox g2 to try to make sure the monitor is working at least as much as I can from chrome. The LG monitor I have, apparently relies heavily on a LG program called OnScreen control which is why I'm here. I initialized the included Linux mode under developer in Chrome OS and then installed CROSSOVER and have attempted to install this monitor control *.exe but after about half way it keeps seeming to hang, this seems to be shortly after the onscreen control installer begins to run and seems to make it through the installing Cpp x86 stuff then nothing crossover progress bar at least appears to stop moving at just past the half way point on the progress bar.
I have had to go back several times to remove enough stuff on chrome to no longer get storage space warnings.
I started this attempt by removing the Linux install(just a button in developer mode). I reinstalled Linux through Dev mode, installed CROSSOVER and switched the install file for onscreen control. I'm not getting any storage space warning anymore but I don't know what to do at this point.
I imagine it's clear from my above comments that Linux and crossover are pretty far from normal for me. I'm using the free trial crossover and just a button in chrome developer mode to get Linux although it all seems to be working most of the way and I'm not getting any errors. This HP g2 is pretty weak, some type of Celeron processor and a pretty small amount of storage.
I wrote the advice part and decided to try a few more things like creating 32 bit and 64 bit windows 8 and 10 bottles, also a Windows 11 bottle. The OnScreen control from LG appears to be made for windows 10.
I've tried moving the storage available bar around under chrome Linux developer mode. With all my attempts at freeing up space have left me with an available storage bar that ranges from 6.6 to 13.3 GB with the default setting itself at 10GB.
Anyway this is long but I tried my best to include as much information as I'm aware of at least. Not sure if anyone has any idea what I'm doing wrong or what.
Thanks
I have Linux assigned with 11.4 out of 11.6 GB on the chrome/Linux disk slider.
