This problem is fixed in version 3.0.0 of Crossover. In the current version of Crossover, the text from articles is unreadable. You can read the text by copy-pasting it to another program or by copying riched32.dll from a real Windows\\System directory to ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Windows/System and adding the following to ~/.cxoffice/dotwine/config:
[AppDefaults\\\\Xnews.exe\\\\DllOverrides]
"riched32" = "native"
This problem is also fixed in WineHQ Wine.
