Disable torrent downloading for updates. You can do this by selecting the Settings wrench icon in the top window bar, and un-checking "Allow torrents". This has been confirmed to prevent a number of crashes and failures to load, however it may slightly increase your patching times.
If your wrench icon has now been replaced with gear icon, and "allow torrents" is no longer available.
Right click bottle, choose "Open C: Drive"
Navigate to game install directory, default "c:\games\World_of_Tanks"
Edit WoTLauncher.cfg and change the value of the following entry from 3 to 2.
<launcher_transport>2</launcher_transport>
Another option is to limit the download bandwidth
Click settings gear
Select updates tab
Set Maximum download speed to something lower than unlimited (may take some tweaking to find a value that doesn't crash)
