With 6.2, if you first create a Windows 98 bottle and install IE 6 into it, then X3 will install and operate in that bottle.
Unfortunately, it has a fairly nasty bug - it will only run the first time.
You can force it to run again by deleting the Software/Corel registry key (in the User area).
You can run the registry editor to do that with cxoffice/bin/regedit --bottle your-bottle-name-here from the command line on Linux, and by using the Mac Run Program... dialog.
