If you see lines of code when you preview an image file, you can solve this by downloading and installing (using CrossOver) irfanview. Once installed, open winrar, go to options > settings. Go to 'viewer' tab and select 'external viewer' radio in 'viewer type'. At the bottom, insert the path for irfanview (i.e C:\Program Files\IrfanView\i_view32.exe) in 'external viewer name'. Images should now open in irfanview.
