In CrossOver, click on the bottle and under "Control Panels" open "Wine Configuration"
Go to "Libraries", under "New override for library" enter dwrite and click "Add"
Click "Edit" and select "Disabled"
Click "OK" on both windows to save the changes
Start the CrossOver software installation process
Right click the bottle and select "Install Software into <bottle name>..."
Search for Warframe and click "Continue"
Select "Download installer"
Click "Continue" and then "Install"
Install Warframe
When prompted to select an installation folder, go to "drive_c" -> "Program Files", then select "Warframe" and click "OK"
The installer will download the latest launcher and restart, this may take a second
Once the launcher has restarted, click "I Agree" twice, the game is now installed will start downloading an update
You may now close the Launcher to abort the update and wait for CrossOver to finish the install process (creating shortcuts etc.)
You should now be able to open the Warframe launcher via the shortcut in Launchpad or CrossOver to finish updating and finally run the game
If you're experiencing issues with audio you can try installing "Xact Engine 2010", however this did not appear to help with occasional crackling in my case.
Thanks to Evan's guide for helping me figure out that disabling dwrite is what finally made the launcher work on my system!
