Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Tips

Disable movies to avoid black screen and crash

When you start the game, the computer or application might freeze, which would require a Crossover or computer reboot. This is a result of bad support for playing the movies from Warcraft III. To resolve this, you would either delete the game folder that contain the movies, rename the folder or add a shortcut prefix to disable the intro movies.

Start you file manager and go to "/home/your_username/.cxoffice/warcraft_bottle/" and then locate the installed Warcraft in your fake windows drive" (e.g. C:\Program files\Warcraft III , so that will be .../Program files/Warcraft III).

Finally rename (or delete) the folder "Movies" to "Movies2". The game should then work more smoothly without having to deal with the buggy movies.
