This may come as common sense but I've found though testing of various installs of war thunder and updates , your best bet is to close all apps that has to do with the Internet and leave crossover open to download and set the upload speed to around 300-200. This can be found in launcher settings which is the wrench. And after doing that I got around 2.1mbs.
