Wallace & Gromit Ep 3: Muzzled! Tips

Installation notes - COG-8.1.3 | 8.1.4 / linux

Installation is fairly straight-forward - just a few notes here for completeness.

Optional: If you are using a dual-display/twinview setup, you may have to
enable 'Emulate a virtual desktop' using winecfg. If you do this, it is best
to set the 'desktop size' to 1024x768.

1. Using cxinstallwizard, begin the installation into a new bottle using the
winxp bottle profile, as you would any other unsupported software/game.

2. One of the first things the installer will do, is ask whether or not to check
and/or update your DirectX 9.0c installation - you may skip this part, as
the installer copies the wrong .dll file into the game installdir.

3. At the end of installation, I chose to untick the 'Play Now' checkbox, and
then just exit the installer and let cxinstallwizard complete the operation. Once
complete, exit cxinstallwizard.

4. This title requires a native d3dx9_41.dll to be present in the bottle environment.
You can do this one of two ways - 1. install directx runtime modern using cxinstallwizard
with 'show all service packs and dependecies' ticked...or 2. locate/download a copy
of d3dx9_41.dll and copy it to the game installdir (the same directory where you
find the ' WallaceGromit103.exe' game executable)

5. Now launch the game - an ieframe based GUI will appear for the online registration
of the game -- enter your serial number and then click on 'Submit Query'. After a moment
or two, the registration GUI will appear all white/blank -- exit the game at this time, the
registration process should be complete.

6. Now launch the game again - the same ieframe based GUI will appear - if registration
has completed corrently, you can click on the  'Click here t run the game' text and the
game should start and run.

Note: the above was done with 'Emulate a virtual desktop' set ON
