A new folder named CrossOver will be added to (your_home_folder)/Applications folder. This folder will contain your launch menu items in your CrossOver Bottle (i.e. WINE Bottle).
VMware vSphere Client
Overview:
The vSphere Client is used to administer the virtual environment within the VMware world. This is a Windows-only app and as such needs a native or emulated Windows environment to run in.
Note! The VMware vSphere Client application falls under the Unsupported Application category and listed with only Bronze compatibility. Therefore, the installation process is manual with additional workarounds needed.
Installation:
The installation will involve installing 3 software packages:
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (which includes 2.0 and 2.0 SP2)
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7
VMware vSphere Client
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1:
Launch CrossOver app
In the Welcome to CrossOver window, select Install Windows Software
Under Select an application to install, scroll down to Service Packs and Upgrades
Select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1; select Proceed
Under Select a bottle into which to install, select New winxp Bottle…
Under New Bottle Name, enter a name of your choosing (e.g. winxp); select Install - click through all pop-up windows to continue with .NET Framework installation - three packages of .NET Framework will be installed (2.0, 2.0 SP2, 3.5 SP1)
Select Done
Microsoft Internet Explorer 7:
Launch CrossOver app
In the Welcome to CrossOver window, select Install Windows Software
Under Select an application to install, scroll down to Runtime Support Components
Select Internet Explorer 7; select Proceed
Under Compatible Bottles, select your-bottle-name (e.g. winxp); select Install - click through all pop-up windows to continue with Internet Explorer 7 installation - Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft XML Parser 3.0 will be installed too - agree to install the latest updates for Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
Select Restart Now
Select Done - the Internet Explorer.app will now appear in (your_home_folder)/Applications folder
VMware vSphere Client:
Download the vSphere Client from the VMware ESXi 5.x server - Enter VMware server IP address into web browser (e.g. https://3.199.99.9) - Select link to Download vSphere Client
Launch CrossOver app
In the Welcome to CrossOver window, select Install Windows Software
Under Select a bottle into which to install, select your_bottle_name; select Proceed
Under Select an installer, select Choose Installer File…
Navigate to folder containing the VMware-viclient-all-5.x.x-x.exe and select filename
Select Use this installer; select Proceed
Under Select an application to install, scroll down to Unsupported Applications and select Other Application
Select Install - click through all pop-up windows to continue with vSphere Client installation except the VMInstallHcmon window stating “Failed to install the hcmon driver.”
From the Finder, hold down the Option key and select from the Go menu…
Library/Application Support/CrossOver/Bottles/(your_bottle)/drive_c/Program Files/VMware/Infrastructure
Duplicate the Virtual Infrastructure Client folder
Select the OK in the VMInstallHcmon window
Select Done
Delete the Virtual Infrastructure Client folder
Rename the folder Virtual Infrastructure Client copy to Virtual Infrastructure Client
From the CrossOver menu, select Programs -> Run Command
To fill-in the Command field, select Browse… to the executable vSphere Client; select Open - drive_c/VMware/Infrastructure/Virtual Infrastructure Client/Launcher/VpxClient.exe
Select Save Command to Programs Menu - VpxClient.app appears in (your_home_folder)/Applications/CrossOver folder and under the CrossOver Programs menu
